And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.  -nkjv Meditations: 1)  Don't you think there are more and more earthquakes these days? 2) How about pestilences? Dictionary.com defines pestilence as a deadly or virulent epidemic disease.
